United States U20 team have gotten their campaign at the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup back on track. Bendel Insurance, El-Kanemi, six other clubs relegated; other NPFL Final Match Day Results
Bendel Insurance and seven other clubs have been relegated from Nigeria Professional Football League. Five of the teams going down to the Nigeria National League are El-Kanemi Warriors, Kwara United, Gombe United, Niger Tornadoes and Yobe Stars. All five are based in Northern Nigeria. Okocha, Kanu, Babangida get new NFF appointments
Three former Super Eagles players, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, and Tijani Babangida have received new appointments from Nigeria Football Federation. NFF in a press statement on Tuesday said the trio have been appointed as scouts and motivational figures for Nigeria’s campaign at the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Egypt this summer. Guinea’s national under-17 male football team on Sunday lost 3-5 after penalty kicks to their Cameroonian counterparts in a pulsating final match at Africa Under-17 Nations Cup competition. Emiliano Sala's father dies three months after son is killed
Father of Premier League footballer Emiliano Sala, who was killed in a plane crash earlier this year, has died three months after his son. Horacio Sala, 58, suffered a heart attack on Friday, his friend and president of his local club confirmed. Daniel Ribero, from San Martin de Progreso, told C5N TV channel that Mr Sala had passed away before doctors arrived at his home in Progreso. The top teams in Group B of the Nigeria Professional Football League, El-Kanemi Warriors and Akwa United, were condemned to heavy defeats in their respective matchday 16 ties on Sunday.
