Three pupils die after eating biscuit in school

There was panic yesterday in Kubwa, a suburb of Federal Capital Territory, following the death of three pupils at Local Education Authority II Primary School. They died after allegedly eating biscuits shared by an unidentified classmate on Tuesday. Two of the deceased, said to be from the same family, were buried yesterday. Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF, in 2017 appropriated and claimed to have spent N65 million on its website. A review of the 2017 budget performance of the OSGF revealed that N65 million was budgeted for the already existing website while the office claimed that N64,855,875, the amount released, had been fully utilised. 17 killed in garbage dump collapse

Heavy rains triggered the partial collapse of a huge mound of garbage in Mozambique's capital on Monday, killing 17 people who were buried by debris. Authorities believe more bodies could be buried at the Hulene garbage dump on the outskirts of Maputo, and a search was underway. The garbage in the poor, densely populated area where the disaster happened rose to the height of a three-story building, according to the Portuguese news agency Lusa.
