No fewer than 12 suspected hoodlums, at the weekend, attacked Radio Nigeria station called Amuludun 99.1 FM in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Reason for the invasion has not been revealed. Sources said the gunmen were also armed with cutlasses, machete, axes and other dangerous weapons.

It was gathered from some of the workers of the radio station that the hoodlums destroyed property worth millions of naira during the invasion.

Among the property destroyed included windows of offices, office equipment, cars and other property. General Manager, Amuludun FM, Niyi Dahunsi, confirmed the invasion. He, however, said that security agents had been mobilised to prevent further attacks on the station.

Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the invasion. In a statement made available to journalists by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Adewale Osifeso, the police said investigations had commenced on the attack.
