On Sunday, a group of bandits raided a female hostel at the Federal University in Gusau, Zamfara State. The assailants entered the rented female hostel in Sabon Gida village in Bungudu, locked up the two civilian guards, and stole their phones.

The bandits then kidnapped two female students from the Microbiology Department of the university.

In response to the incident, the police tactical team was dispatched to the area, but the culprits had already fled with the victims to an unknown location. Police Public Relations Officer in Zamfara, Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the attack and said that the Commissioner of Police had deployed reinforcements to assist in the ongoing rescue operation.

Shehu urged members of the public to continue providing support to the police to ensure success of the rescue mission.
