2000-year old Jewish settlement discovered in Israel

Archaeologists have uncovered a 2000-year-old Jewish settlement in the South city of Be’er Sheva. The excavation found among other things a piece of an oil lamp decorated with a nine-branched menorah at the site of the settlement in the Negev desert region. Woman gives birth in mango tree

A woman gave birth in a mango tree while escaping floods in central Mozambique caused by Cyclone Idai. Single mother Amélia delivered her daughter, Sara, whilst clinging to the branches with her two-year-old son. Man jumps to death from telecom mast in Ibadan

A man suspected to be mentally unstable on Saturday jumped to his death from a bank’s network mast in the Sango area of Ibadan. Confirming the incident, Oyo State Police Public Relation officer, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, said the victim, who was naked, came to Wema Bank branch in Sango and entered the building through its small gate. Chickens 'gang up' to kill intruder fox on farm

Chickens in a school farm in north-western France are believed to have grouped and killed a juvenile fox. The unusual incident in Brittany took place after the fox entered the coop with 3,000 hens through an automatic hatch door which closed immediately. A mountain lion lunged at a runner on a Colorado trail and bit his face before the man fought back and choked the animal to death, wildlife officials said Tuesday.
