CBN directs banks to pay new naira notes over the counter

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed commercial banks to start paying the redesigned naira notes to customers over the counter. In a statement on Thursday, the CBN said the new directive was to alleviate the challenges that Nigerians are experiencing with getting access to the new notes, as well as reduce queues at the automated teller machines (ATMs) nationwide. NNPCL awards rehabilitation of Kaduna refinery to South Korean firm for $741m

Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has struck a $741 million deal with Daewoo Engineering and Construction Company to rehabilitate an oil refinery in Kaduna State. According to Bloomberg, NNPCL signed the maintenance service contract with the South Korean engineering firm at a ceremony held on Thursday. N’Delta communities file damages claim against Shell in London court

More than 11,000 Nigerians from the oil-producing Niger Delta have filed a compensation claim against Shell at the London High Court, the latest step in a case that will test whether multinationals can be held to account for the actions of overseas subsidiaries. Another oil company puts up assets for sale preparatory to leaving Nigeria

Norway's Equinor has launched the sale of its stake in an offshore Nigerian oilfield, joining a retreat by Western energy firms from the West African country as they focus on newer and more profitable operations, three industry sources said. NNPC adopts Build-Operate-Transfer model for pipeline, depot rehabilitation
