Abubakar Momoh, professor and civil society leader, is dead

Professor Abubakar Momoh, prominent Nigerian civil society leader and director general of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Electoral Institute, has died. Momoh, who sat on the board of several nongovernmental organisations, died early Monday, his associates said. His associate and lawyer, Abdul Mahmoud, confirmed the development. “It’s true, I have just spoken to his brother-in-law,” he wrote on his Facebook Page. Obasanjo warns of looming youth anger

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is worried about the anger and frustration of youths. He said if the youth’s anger is not well-managed, it could lead to an “explosion”. Members desert church over Ambode's sack of Presiding Chaplain

Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, was a shadow of itself on Sunday during the Sunday service as many members of the church did not show up. A former Chairman of Council of Legal Education and a retired justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice Morenikeji Omotayo Onalaja is dead. According to a family source, he died on Sunday at the age of 84 after a protracted illness. He was born on July 24, 1933 He was called to the English Bar in Inner Temple on June 16, 1959, and enrolled as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on June 14, 1960. North Korea fired an apparent ballistic missile that landed in the waters of Japan's economic zone Monday, South Korean and Japanese officials said, the latest in a string of launches as the North seeks to build nuclear-tipped ICBMs that can reach the U.S. mainland.
