What exactly is the matter with Africans? - Ozodiobi Osuji

In the USA, if one black man is killed by white persons we are all up in arms demonstrating against racism; and generally something is done to make sure that such killing is not repeated.

In Nigeria, over the past several years, Fulani herdsmen have been killing thousands of Nigerians in the middle belt part of the country; these folks are essentially engaged in ethnic cleansing; apparently, they are trying to wipe out the local people and eventually take over their lands.

Nigerians and other Africans keep quiet as a bunch of African barbarians kill other Africans. Suddenly, they no longer have voice to decry man’s inhumanity to man; they only do so when white folks kill black folks (and they do so to extort some money from white folks not because they actually care for the black folks killed).

What exactly is the matter with Africans? Do they really believe that their African lives do not matter to the extent that in the past they sold Africans to Arabs and Europeans, and at present do not care to develop their people and permit a bunch of murderers to murder their people at will?

What is the matter with Africans? Are they created evil or are they dumb asses, as racists’ claim that they are?

How come Africans do not do something to stop the killing of their people by other Africans, and seem to do so only when white folks kill Africans?

As we talk, Africans are slaughtered like they are cattle in the Congo and other Africans keep quiet; instead, they tell us about what King Leopold of Belgium did to Africans in the Nineteenth century (which, of course, is bad).

Last year, under the guise of planned military exercise, Operation Python, the Hausa-Fulani controlled Nigerian army visited Mr. Namdi Kanu’s house and since then he and his parents have not been heard from. It is reported that many Igbos were killed during that operation.

It appears that Nigerian lives do not matter so criminals in Nigerian army uniform arrogated unto themselves the right to engage in extrajudicial killing.

And no African country, to date, has asked Buhari and his army to produce Nnamdi Kanu. This is sad, very sad.

The question is this: why is killing only bad when white men kill black men not when black men kill black men?

What exactly is the matter with Africans? Are they an evil people, for, obviously, only evil persons permit the killing of their people and do nothing about it!

Africans ought to become true human beings and stop killing their people; Africans must stop ignoring their people and get down to developing their people.

I am really, really sick and tired of always making excuses as to why nothing good seems to come out of Africa, and always rationalizing corruption in Nigeria; I really am tired of explaining why the apes ruling Nigeria do not see it as their duty to develop their country in a hurry and instead specialize on stealing from their people.

It is now about time we healed Africans of their lack of regard for their people; we need to teach them that African lives matter and that the killing of one African by murderous Fulani herdsmen is one too many and is unacceptable. And the same goes for the killing in other parts of Africa.
