Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert ~ Isaiah 43:19.

Introduction:

God always craves for His people to enjoy an ever increasing dimension of His goodness in their supernatural experiences with Him (Galatians 6:15). He is ever eager to do new things in their lives (Proverbs 4:18).

In this regard, I intuitively sense that a remarkable time is here, and new things are gathering momentum in the spiritual horizon right now, especially for God’s people who are covered under the prophetic umbrella of God’s covenant in Christ Jesus, worldwide (Psalms 102:13). There is nothing the devil can do to stop it.

In His evergreen promise through Prophet Isaiah, God said: “behold, I will do a new thing”. A new thing here references something that has not hitherto occurred, some unheard of and wonderful events that eyes have not seen, and that shall by far surpass all that have been before (Isaiah 42:9).

A new thing is something you don’t see physically now, and can’t understand presently by human reasoning (1 Corinthians 2:9). Hence, you need a repositioning in the spirit realm to see it, to recognize and receive it. But, this can only happen when we open up to God and to the revelation of His Word.

Reading from the history of God’s ways, in Exodus 3.1-14, we can safely conclude that God usually does new things when an era naturally lapses and a new phase is about to begin, when His people get to the backside of their desert experiences, or when His people are suffering and are being afflicted by a Pharaoh figure.

When any or all of these happen, God's fresh glory comes down, with deliverance as well as the birth of new things. God begins to introduce Himself anew amidst His people, with new names and in new dimensions, raising deliverers and helpers of destiny for them in all ramifications of life and godliness: spiritual, material, financial, in their drives, strength and energy to accomplish greater things in their calling, career etc.

Thereafter, He makes them a bunch of witnesses and a showcase of His goodness. He fights for them, and they become a people that cannot be easily ignored. We shall get there, in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Getting Set for the Stream of New Things!

Though there are so many things that are worthy to be remembered with thankfulness and praise to the glory of God, and for the encouragement of faith, yet God is saying they will be dwarfed in comparison with what He will yet do in our lives hereafter. Hence, we are counseled not to be carried away by the things seen before, and also encouraged by the following evergreen promises:

1. I will do a new thing.

2. Now, it shall spring forth.

3. I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

4. It shall be clearly manifest. Shall ye not know it?

Meanwhile, God often ensures that we are prepared for our next level before He finally takes us there, not the other way round (Exodus 33:18-21). And, the best in life is often reserved only for those who receive grace to forget the past and are adequately prepared for the future (Philippians 3:13-14). Someone said: “today is the the tomorrow we spoke about yesterday”.

We ought to get set mentally and spiritually in order to truly partake of the divine promises of new things. We must work on ourselves and be personally prepared for the new things the Almighty God wants to do in our lives (2 Chronicles 27:6).

Until you change, nothing really changes. You must turn before you can expect to be turned into another man, and you must work hard on yourself in readiness for God’s new order of doings in your life (Deuteronomy 1:7; 1 Samuel 10:6). Self preparation is the platform that sets the stage for the next level of supernatural fulfillment.

In addition to these, we need to work upon our environment, redefine our associations and become very acutely sensitive to the Holy Spirit to be repositioned for the “new thing” from the Almighty God (Isaiah 40:28–31; Psalm 35:13).

Furthermore, we need to realize that a better foundation is very  crucial to a better life. A building is only as strong as its foundation (Matthew 7:24-25). If anything is built on a faulty foundation, it only awaits a dangerous crack or even an ultimate collapse (Psalm 11:3). Hence, we need to build into the beginning of our new Christian experience what we hope to see and enjoy in it.

In conclusion, brethren, please keep true to this divine order of new things. New things, next levels of glory, honor and incredible kingdom accomplishments are always possible for the people of God who are truly called according to His purpose and are actively prepared for His new wonders.

No matter how bad your past has been, there can be a new beginning for you! Whatever exists in your life that looks like failure, setback, confusion, depression or oppression will come to an end when you take steps to create a new beginning.

Be spiritually deep and heavenward in your outlook. Whatever we have on earth — houses, cars, good health, etc. — is short lived. Yes, have those good things of life, use them, but never abuse them and never forget that things of eternal value matter the most of all.

Roll away the stone of doubt, fear, discouragement and un-forgiveness (John 11:39). Dare to believe God to see a new level of God’s glory (John 11:40). Camp with the Lord, retreat, rest, review and refuel (Exodus 14:13; Mark 6:31). Present yourself as a living sacrifice (Romans 12.1-2). And, be determined in your mind to pay the price required for a new level of joy and accomplishment.

Brethren, it is a new day! Be expectant, and very soon, you will certainly experience new things in the positive superlative sense. May you never miss out in Jesus name, Amen. Happy Sunday!
