Although Sunshine Stars and Shooting Stars face the risk of dropping into the Nigeria National League at the end of the season, they gave themselves hope on Sunday; registering home wins in their Nigeria Professional Football League Match Day 25 fixtures.

Shooting Stars at their Adamasingba home ground beat visiting ABS FC from Ilorin 2-0 while Sunshine Stars did just enough to beat Gombe United 2-1.

Despite the wins, Sunshine and Shooting Stars are 17th and 18th respectively on the NPFL log.

In Lafia, Nasarawa United ended a run of four League games without a win as they piped Enyimba International by a lone goal.

The games in Nnewi and Lokoja ended in barren draws as FC Ifeanyi Ubah played goalless with Wikki Tourists same way the game between Niger Tornadoes and Enugu Rangers ended.

Kano fans had the most goals to savour this weekend as Kano Pillars beat MFM FC 3-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Rabi’u Ali, Amos Gyang and Adamu Muhammad scored for Pillars while Stephen Odey scored for MFM FC.

Odey’s goal in Kano is his 15th goal of the season as he remains the highest goal scorer on the domestic scene.
