Chairman of Oyo State chapter of Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN), Mr Kolapo Oladapo, Thursday enjoined people of the state not to sell their votes during next year's governorship election, but rather vote enmass for the party.

Oladapo made the call while formally presenting Mr Abiodun Bamigboye and Mrs Ebunoluwa Famuti, as governorship and deputy governorship candidate of the party at the party's secretariat, Mokola, Ibadan, stating that SPN had no money to buy votes, but has programme capable of bringing a significant improvement to both the living and working condition of workers, youths and masses in the state.

He stated that the party is participating in the forthcoming general elections to offer a clear socialist alternative to what he called "anti-people capitalist parties that will be participating in the election".

He said, "SPN is a broad, pro - masses party mainly formed to bring together all Nigerians who are angry, disenchanted and fed up with the failure of governance in the country ".

He explained further that if the party's governorship candidate is elected, he will put in place a pro-working masses government that will always defend and give priority to areas of needs of workers and the poor.

Oladapo added that the party has designed programmes that will touch lives of citizens of the state in the areas of education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, industrialization, workers' welfare, job creation, youth and women empowerment and so on.

"SPN -government will be committed to free and quality education, all fees currently being charged across public primary and secondary schools in the state will be cancelled within 60 days of SPN-led government while all fees hiked in higher institutions will be reversed to the amount payable by minimum wage earners", he said.
