  • An Indian man was bitten by a snake at his home in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday
  • He sought revenge on the reptile and killed the snake by chewing it into pieces
  • The incident comes two days after Indian man suffered heart attack & died after snake coiled itself around him

An Indian man who was bitten by a snake got his revenge on the reptile by biting it back and killing it, the man's father said today.

The man, Raj Kumar, was relaxing at home, enjoying a drink on Sunday, when a snake slithered into his house in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, and bit him, said his father.

'A snake bit him. So, in turn, he bit it and chewed it into pieces,' said the father, Babu Ram.

The man's family took him to hospital where media said his condition was critical. The snake that bit him was reported to have been a rat snake, which experts regard as usually not venomous.

'This is definitely weird,' said Raj Kumar's doctor, N.P. Singh.

'I've seen people coming in with snakebites, but never somebody who bit a snake and then brought it with him in a bag.'

The incident comes two days after an Indian man reportedly suffered a massive heart attack and died after discovering a huge snake had managed to get into his car and was coiling itself around his arm.

The man had been on the phone to his son on July 27, when the snake suddenly started winding itself around him and the man in a panic had asked his son to get help.

When emergency services arrived at the Batu Pahat Vocational College which is located in south-western Malaysia's Johor State, where the man worked, they found him unconscious with the snake tightly coiled around his arm.

The victim, identified as Zainal Abidin Daim, 59, did not recover consciousness and later died with medics saying he had suffered a heart attack and that the postmortem had confirmed the diagnosis.

Local police spokesman Supt Muhammad Izzudin Runggai said the dead man who was a driver at the college had been speaking to his son when he found the snake inside the car.

He added that the man was in the process of trying to remove the snake and had complained to his son about breathing difficulty shortly before contact ended.

The snake, the species of which is unclear, was removed and taken to a safe location to be released.
