Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has felicitated with Christians in Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Christmas, urging them to imbibe the spirit of togetherness, peaceful co-existence and love towards one another which the birth of Jesus Christ symbolizes.

The governor, in his goodwill message issued by his Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, Mr. Yomi Layinka, said Nigeria could only achieve the desired greatness in an atmosphere of peace and love.

Ajimobi described the current economic recession as a passing phase in the history of Nigeria, saying that with the various economic reforms being introduced by the APC-led federal and state governments, Nigerians would soon heave a sigh of relief.

He called on Nigerians to continue to support the President Muhammadu Buhari administration in his quest to wrestle the country from its current economic challenges.

"There is no doubting the fact that Nigeria is currently passing through one of the very challenging periods in its history. Every support must, therefore, be given to the federal government to ensure that the country bounces back on its feet,’’ he said.

While congratulating Christians and reminding them of the essence of the occasion, he urged them to pray for the peace, tranquility, progress and economic emancipation of the country.

The governor admonished Christians to continue to exhibit love towards their fellow human beings and re-dedicate themselves to the service of humanity as exhibited by Jesus Christ during His earthly ministration.

He expressed appreciation to the people of the state for their high level of understanding and continued support for his administration, urging them not to relent in their prayers which, he said, had served as a motivating factor for his government's developmental strides.
