Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, yesterday warned on a plot by a Boko Haram affiliate group, the Muslim Brotherhood in Kogi State, to attack banks, army depots and prisons in the country. The minister’s Special Assistant, Segun Ayeyemi, said in a statement that Mohammed disclosed that the group was planning to acquire chemicals and weapons for the attacks.

The statement added that intelligence had also revealed that the group was making efforts to acquire sophisticated arms and appealed to Nigerians to be vigilant and report any suspicious persons. 

It was also revealed that members of the Muslim Brotherhood were planning to set free their members who are in detention in Kogi, Abuja and Kaduna, including one Bilyaminu, an IED expert who is now in the Kuje prison in the FCT.
