The entire Sango-Ota axis in Ado Ota local Government Area of Ogun is engulfed in protest.

Vehicular and human traffic along Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway in that axis has been paralysed, as rioting youths and rice sellers in Sango-Ota market are said to have blocked both sides of the road at Ota, just before the bridge.

Unconfirmed reports say that these youths and traders are said to bé protesting over what they called ‘invasion’ of the market by men of Nigeria Customs Service.

They claimed that Customs men went to some stalls early Wednesday morning, forced them opened and evacuated bags of rice, and took them away in their vehicles.

Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a telephone call said that members of the force are appealing to the protesters to leave the road.

Motorists and commuters were stranded, as some of them made frantic efforts to seek alternative routes. Some were trekking.
