Tragedy has struck the Maikanti’s family once again. Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Maikanti Baru, has lost his son.

Earlier in April, his mother, Hajiya Fatima Baru, died in her hometown of Misau in Bauchi State.

The son died in Dubai, it was reported thursday evening.

Baru’s sister had died weeks ago on the eve of his trip to Houston, Texas United States, for the OTC conference.

Last year, some guests attending his daughter’s wedding died in an accident.

The Baru family and relatives were inconsolable after they were informed about the son’s death.

Sources said the late Baru junior was humble and soft spoken.

Family is yet to give official statement regarding the loss.
