Support government to improve education, Tijani tells old students

Old students of Abeokuta Grammar School have been urged to continue to put back into their Alma mater, by supporting to meet the needs of the School. 

 

The call was made by the President of the Abeokuta Grammar School Old Boys Association, AGSOBA Club 8692, Mr Hakeem Tijani, while speaking on the forthcoming 109th Founder's Day Celebration of the school and the 25th anniversary of AGSOBA club 8692.

 

Tijani who expressed shock at the poor state of facilities in the school said it was important that the old students do not relent in their efforts but continue to do more to restore the standard quality that the school was known for. 

 

He said Government alone cannot cater for the needs of the School, thus the need for more support from the old students who he said had been up and doing in bringing back the lost glory of the school. 

 

The President disclosed that his set,  "AGSOBA Club 8692, is already rehabilitating a block of classrooms as part of its support and contributions in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the group.

 

He expressed appreciation to members of Club 8692 whom he described as patriotic and wonderful people ready to put back into their society.

 

Director of Media and Publicity, AGSOBA club 8692, Mr Dayo da Silva, said since education aids development, it is the responsibility of all to ensure qualitative education is bequeathed to our citizens if there must be positive changes in our society.

 

He encouraged all old students to continue to plough back to the School that moulded them into whoever or whatever they are today. 

 

Da-Silva said the Founder's day is lined up with interesting activities beginning from the 14th to the 16th of July 2017. 

 

He enjoined all members of Club 8692 to be part of the 109th school founders day celebrations and the 25th anniversary of the club especially the July 15th re-union party and the Special Thanksgiving service of the school.
