Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris has ordered the arrest of spokesman of former Military President Ibrahim Babangida should he fail to turn himself in within 24 hours.

Mr Kassim Afegua is wanted for issuing a ‘fake’ statement.

Afegbua in the statement quoted the former military ruler as saying President Muhammadu Buhari should be voted out by Nigerians in 2019.

But another statement surfaced purportedly denying the earlier one signed on behalf of Mr Babangida by Afegbua.

Appearing on Channel TV last night, Afegbua however insisted that the statement he issued was authentic and authorised by Babangida.

A government source, who does not want his name in print, confirmed that the IGP had ordered Afegbua’s arrest within24 hours.
