President, Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASoW), Mr Mashood Mustapha, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to improve on the security architecture of the country in order to put an end to insurgency in Nigeria.

Mustapha in a statement to mark Eid el Kabir celebration and made available to journalists in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, by Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the association, Mr Musliudeen Adebayo, urged Nigerians to remember their brothers and sisters in IDP camps made homeless and without family members by insurgency.

According to him, federal government has a duty to improve the security architecture of the country so as to combat insurgency especially, in North East.

He said, "May all our prayers be answered. On behalf of Nigeria Association of Social Workers, I wish you all a divine blessing, may this celebration bring peace and joy. As we celebrate this Eid El Kabir, we should remember our brothers and sisters in IDP Camps who are made homeless by insurgency.

"The Association is calling on our government to improve on the security architecture, as this insurgency is denying hope to millions of our people, may God enrich our souls with resistance to what is evil.

"Nigeria Association of Social Workers, while praying for peace, would also like to draw the attention of our government to the huge gap between the haves and the have nots. The Association is of the opinion that corruption, poverty and unemployment, are likely possibilities for insurgency, kidnapping and banditry in our country.

"The Association is hereby calling for an enabling social and political environment for the growth and development of our youth by putting an end to social and economic insecurity."
