British police found the bodies of 39 people inside a truck at an industrial estate near London on Wednesday and said they had arrested the driver on suspicion of murder. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday charged two Britons in Abuja for alleged money laundering in connection with an ill-fated gas deal that has left the government facing a disputed bill of more than $9 billion. James Richard Nolan and Adam Quinn pleaded not guilty in an Abuja court to 16 counts of money laundering put forward by EFCC. Court relaxes Sowore’s bail conditions

Ms Ijeoma Ojukwu of Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday reviewed the bail conditions earlier granted to publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr Omoyele Sowore. The court on October 4 granted bail of N100 million to Sowore and and his co-accused, Mr Olawale Bakare, N50 million. Ojukwu said Sowore should produce two sureties in like sum. Of that amount, N50 million was to be deposited with the court while the balance was to be put in place should Sowore jump bail. Lagos Division of Federal High Court on Monday has ordered the temporary forfeiture of two properties located in Ikoyi area of Lagos State and belonging to the immediate past senate president, Mr Bukola Saraki, to Federal Government. Police have rescued Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr Musa Rabo, who was abducted along Barde-Jos road by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Saturday. Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Wednesday said that a total of 119,663 pieces of counterfeit notes with a nominal value of N98.82 million was recorded in 2018. The bank said this in the Currency Operations 2018 Annual Report, posted on its website.
