Ile-Ife: 15 detainees released, 40 Obas protest monarch’s detention

Nigeria Police Force has released 15 out of the 21 persons arrested for their alleged role in the clash between Hausa and Yoruba youths in Ile-Ife, Osun State, which left at least 46 persons dead. The Publicity Secretary of the pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, told our correspondent on the telephone on Thursday that the 15 suspects were released unconditionally. Here's the father of all bombs: Russia's answer to America's MOAB

The US just dropped a 21,600-pound conventional bomb in Afghanistan. The bomb, the Massive Ordinance Air Blast, nicknamed "Mother of All Bombs" because of its acronym, is the largest nonnuclear bomb in the US's arsenal. But Russia has an even bigger one. Amaechi’s spokesman tackles Fayose’s aide over $43m recovered by EFCC

Indicted INEC staff refund Diezani’s bribe - INEC Chair

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said some of its staff accused of benefitting from a N3.4 billion bribe money in the 2015 general elections have refunded their share. NNPC confirms sack of officials, says replacements to be announced soon

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on Thursday confirmed the disengagement of officials linked with missing 130 million liters of petrol. A high ranking source in the ministry, who did not wish to be named, made the confirmation to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.
