Nigeria Police Force has released 15 out of the 21 persons arrested for their alleged role in the clash between Hausa and Yoruba youths in Ile-Ife, Osun State, which left at least 46 persons dead. Buhari appoints CEOs for 23 agencies

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Chief Executives for 23 Federal Government agencies. Mr Bolaji Adebiyi, Director of Press in the Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation stated this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said some of its staff accused of benefitting from a N3.4 billion bribe money in the 2015 general elections have refunded their share. A former Managing Director of one of the subsidiaries of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, has denied social media reports linking her to the $43.4m, N23m and £27,000 recovered by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on Thursday confirmed the disengagement of officials linked with missing 130 million liters of petrol. A high ranking source in the ministry, who did not wish to be named, made the confirmation to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.
