Buhari nominates non-executive directors of CBN board

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday forwarded names of five nominees to the Senate for confirmation as non-executive directors of the board of Central Bank of Nigeria. According to a statement by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the nominees were picked from five geopolitical zones of the country. Easter: FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays

The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 14 and Monday, April 17, as Public Holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter celebrations. ‎Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) made the announcement, contained in a statement signed by acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Muhammadu Maccido. ‎ The minister enjoined Christian faithfuls, and Nigerians, in general, to extend the “spiritual benefits of Easter, which are love, peace, justice, sacrifice and kindness to their daily living, and through this contribute to unity and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.”

Diezani bribe: INEC drags 6 Commissioners to presidency

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has written the presidency for further action on six of its former personnel involved in the N23 billion election bribe allegedly doled out by Diezani Alison-Madueke, former petroleum minister. They include one of its retired National Commissioner, and five Resident Electoral Commissioners. Senate orders withdrawal of Nigeria constitution from circulation
