Osinbajo signs seven bills into laws

Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has assented to seven bills passed by the National Assembly. The bills which include Oath (Amendment) Act 2017, Defence Space Administration Act, Veterinary Surgeons (Amendment Act) have now become Nigerian laws. Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters Senator Ita Enang confirmed Osinbajo's endorsement of the bills. Nigerian Community in South Africa has confirmed attacks and looting of Nigerian-owned businesses in Pretoria West on Saturday. Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has denied any ongoing recruitment by the organisation, saying its website was hacked. Spokesperson of the Corps, Mr Emmanuel Okeh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja. The family of Sandra David has sued the Federal government and Federal Medical Centre, Abuja for N500 million over the death of a 29-year old woman at the centre due to “medical negligence”. In a suit, number FHC/ABJ/CS/74/2016, filed by Ms. David’s mother, Portia Sambo, the family is also demanding payment of N8.2 million as cost of treatment of the deceased at the Federal Medical Centre and Nizamiye Hospital in Abuja. Bad weather aborts Osinbajo’s visit to Ondo

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, on Friday rescheduled his visit to Ondo State due to poor weather condition. According to a statement by Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo was already air-borne on Friday morning when weather reports indicated dusty haze and very poor visibility at the Akure Airport and other alternative airports nearby.
