Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila has announced an ad-hoc committee to review the legislative agenda of the 9th House of Representatives, stating that it is imperative, considering prevailing realities. Federal government has approved termination of the appointment of Mr Charles Uwakwe as Registrar and Chief Executive of National Examinations Council (NECO). Federal government also dismissed four members of NECO management for various offences bordering on financial impropriety. Affected officers include Acting Director (Finance and Accounts), Bamidele Olure; Head of Procurement Division, Shina Adetona; Deputy Director Tayo Odukoya, and Head of Legal/Board matters, Babatunde Aina. Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu contrary to the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, ordered police commands not to exempt anybody, including workers on essential duties, when enforcing the ban on interstate movements and the nationwide curfew. Following dwindling revenues occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has said it may not be able to pay full salary of staff as from May 2020 until the industry returns to normalcy.
