Nigeria and other countries in sub-Saharan Africa will lose about $200bn in incomes by the end of 2020, according to International Monetary Fund. The development is as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which is pulling the global economy towards recession. Violence in northwest Nigeria has forced about 23,000 refugees to flee to Niger since April and raised concerns about the deteriorating security situation, the United Nations refugee agency said on Tuesday. President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the presidential task force on Covid-19 to pick up Covid-Organics, Madagascar’s plant-based remedy for Coronavirus. Mr Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation broke the news at the daily briefing of the task force, which he heads.
