Funmi Olaitan, Ibadan

National Chairman of National Action Council (NAC), Mr Olapade Agoro, on Monday, called on United Nations (UN), African Union (AU) and other international organisations, to as a matter of urgency intervene and stop killings of innocent Nigerians across the country.

Agoro while addressing journalists in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, over killings of over 200 people in Plateau State last weekend, said Nigeria never had it so bad where over 200 people would be killed within 24 hours in a state.

It would be recalled that over 200 people have been confirmed to killed in Plateau state in renewed attacks on some villages in the state.

But, the NAC Presidential candidate while condemning the killings, maintained that the time had come to call on United Nations, African Union and other international organisations to wade in to and stop the orgy of killings of innocent Nigerians.

He said, "On behalf of every right thinking Nigerian, on behalf of the innocent people that have been killed, on behalf of all Nigerians, I am inviting UN, AU and the international community to quickly wade in and stop the killings of these defenceless Nigerians.

"We never had it so bad and terrible in Nigeria, now somebody is saying they want to establish cattle ranches. During Obasanjo, Yaradua, Jonathan, we never saw this kind of killings.

"It is clear that Nigeria is under siege. We never had it so bad like this where over 200 people would be killed like this. This is worrisome, it is terrible.

"By inviting you today, I am already writing the letter. I am inviting UN, AU and other international organisations to come and intervene. They should wade in over the killings of innocent Nigerians."

Agoro added that there is a need for all and sundry; legislature, journalists and other concerned Nigerians to rise up and save the nation from total destruction, charging journalists to continue in setting good agenda for the progress of Nigeria.

"Our President has not seen any reason to condemn the abnormalities. Somebody must rise up and salvage the nation. This is why I am calling you gentlemen of the press to save the nation from total collapse. APC is a party that has nothing to offer Nigerians than killings of innocent Nigerians", he stated.
