Bandits kidnap two nurses from Kaduna hospital

Armed bandits on Wednesday attacked the General Hospital Idon, in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted two nurses. A source from the community confirmed the abduction, saying the incident happened at night. The hospital is a 24-hour secondary health care facility serving Idon, Makyali, Idon Gida, Kajuru, Maro, Kasuwan Magani, Kufana, Kallah, Kurmin Idon, Buda and Afogo communities in Kajuru local government area. Bandits kidnap unknown number of university students in Kaduna

Kidnappers killed one person and took an unknown number of students from a private university in restive Kaduna state, police said on Wednesday, in the latest in a series of abductions at educational institutes. Armed groups have repeatedly struck northern Nigerian schools and universities since December, abducting more than 700 students for ransom. Bandits invade Zamfara villages, kill 30

No fewer than 30 people were on Tuesday night killed in renewed bandit attacks on four villages in Zamfara State. The attacks were said to have been carried out simultaneously on Tuesday night in two local government areas of the state. Police in Enugu are deploying the command’s operational and intelligence assets in a manhunt for gunmen who attacked and burnt Adani police station in Uzo-Uwani council area early Wednesday, resulting in the death of two officers. Authorities in Katsina state say dogs and prayer sessions will be part of a new security set-up to protect students at schools from criminals. Police in Ebonyi State, Nigeria’s South-east, have confirmed the killing of three of their operatives by gunmen in Abakaliki, the state capital.
