Kano State government has filed an eight-count charge against Abdullahi Ganduje, former governor of the state, for allegedly collecting $200,000 from a contractor. In a charge sheet filed before the Kano high court, the state government said the offence contravened Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Law 2008. Gunmen have reportedly abducted a yet-to-be-confirmed number of students along the east-west road in the Ughelli area of Delta state. The students were coming from Calabar, Cross River capital, when their Sienna vehicle was attacked Friday evening. Bright Edafe, Delta police spokesperson in Delta, confirmed the incident on Monday. The Police Command in Cross River, on Sunday, confirmed the abduction of three students of the University of Calabar (Unical). The case with the number FHC/ABJ/CR/111/2024 was filed at the federal high court in Abuja. Four other defendants in the case are Karl Toriola, chief executive officer (CEO) of MTN Nigeria; Nkeakam Abhulimen; Fun Mobile Ltd, a telecommunications service provider; and Yahaya Maibe, its CEO.
