Taraba gov was absent from the state for 87 days. He explains why

Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishiaku , on Thursday, explained why he was absent from his State for about three months. Ishiaku, who showed up in Jalingo, the state capital, for the first time in 87 days, said his absence was based on health grounds. The governor said he had broken his leg after a fall he had in his home. He said he had been on medication ever since until doctors advised that he could travel. He said he is yet to fully recover. FG shuts tertiary institutions, secondary, primary schools nationwide

Govs set up emergency committee on Coronavirus

Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has constituted a seven-member sub-committee chaired by Governor of Kaduna State, Mr Nasir El-Rufai, to “comprehensively” review the current trend and advise state governments on the set of actions required to address challenges of the Covid-19 on the economy. National Identity registration centres shut down

National Identity Management Commission on Thursday ordered the immediate shutdown of all its enrollment centres. According to the commission, the move is part of the measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The commission said all its centres in Lagos, Ekiti, Ogun, Katsina and Anambra states had been ordered to shut down. Coronavirus has killed more people in Italy than in any other country, after deaths there rose by 427 in a day. FG slashes budget by N1.5tn, sets new oil benchmark

Federal Government on Wednesday announced a slash in the 2020 budget by N1.5 trillion as part of measures to respond to the impact of coronavirus on the economy. Nigeria bans entry to arrivals from China, US, 11 other countries to combat coronavirus

Nigeria will from Saturday ban entry to arrivals from 13 of the countries worst affected by the coronavirus epidemic, minister of interior said on Wednesday. U.S. suspends visa services worldwide

The United States is suspending all routine visa services as of Wednesday in most countries worldwide due to the coronavirus outbreak, a spokeswoman for the State Department said, an unprecedented move that will potentially impact hundreds of thousands of people. Schools to close in Northwest, Niger states over Coronavirus

To check Coronavirus pandemic from Northwest geo-political zone, governors rose from a one-day meeting, iin Kaduna, yesterday and agreed to shutdown schools in their states for 30 days. Coronavirus: Lagos bans religious gathering of over 50 worshippers

As part of measures to contain spread of the Coronavirus outbreak, Lagos State Government has banned all religious gathering of over 50 people within the state.
