President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr Bashir Jamoh as director-general of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). Jamoh will replace Dakuku Peterside who was appointed in 2016 to head the maritime agency. Peterside’s tenure as NIMASA DG ends on March 10, 2020. The newly appointed DG is currently executive director for admin and finance at NIMASA. Jamoh, who hails from Kaduna, is also the current president of Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA). United States Department of State (USDS) Wednesday announced a $7million (N2.54b) bounty for information that could lead to the arrest of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau. House of Representatives has mandated management of the National Assembly to shut the parliament for two weeks to facilitate the installation of infrastructure and other preventive measures that would protect lawmakers and workers from coronavirus. Dangote donates N200m to fight Covid-19

Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) yesterday pledged to support the current efforts of federal government against Coronavirus with N200 million. The ADF’s intervention is considered the largest single donation by a corporate organisation in the country to contain the spread of virus since a foreigner was tested positive last month in Lagos.
