FEC approves N29.2bn for roads from Nigeria to Niger Republic

Federal Executive Council (FEC) wednesday in Abuja approved N29.2 billion for construction of two roads linking two Northern states to the border of Niger Republic. Federal government has also licensed two gold refineries in Nigeria. More Northern govs vow to end Almajiri, street begging

The move against out-of-schoolchildren (Almajiri) in the North gained more support on Wednesday with two governors – Messers Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna) and Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa) joining the crusade. Nigerian High Commission in London owes twice its entire 2020 budget in congestion, parking fees

United Kingdom says the Nigerian High Commission in London owes £7.1m (N3.3bn) in congestion charges and parking tickets. Giving a breakdown on Tuesday, UK Foreign Office said Nigeria was owing £7,063,965 in congestion fees and £47,165 in parking tickets. Kano bans street begging, to prosecute parents of kid beggars

Kano State Governor, Mr Abdullahi Ganduje, has placed a ban on street begging in the state. Nigeria records highest GDP growth for Q4 2019 - NBS

Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate improved to 2.55 per cent (year-on-year) in real terms in the fourth quarter of last year (Q4 2019) compared to 2.28 per cent in the preceding quarter, according to National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). According to the GDP Report for Q4, released Monday by the statistical agency, the economy grew by 2.27 per cent in 2019 compared to 1.91 per cent in 2018. Delta community prohibits beef consumption over herders’ attacks

A community in Delta State, South-South Nigeria, has placed a ban on beef to protest attacks on their people by herders. The people of Uwheru in Ughelli North, Delta State, have been forbidden from eating or selling cow meat because of repeated attacks by herdsmen against farmers and residents of the kingdom.
