Federally-collected revenue fell by N388bn in November, latest statistics from Central Bank of Nigeria have revealed. Part of the CBN’s report on ‘Monthly economic report for the month of November’, read, “At N858.92bn, estimated federally-collected revenue (gross) in November 2019 fell below both the monthly budget estimate of N1.24tn and the preceding month’s receipt of N894.09bn by 31.1 per cent and 3.9 per cent respectively. “The decline, relative to the monthly budget estimate, was attributed to shortfall in both oil and non-oil revenues.” It stated that oil receipt, at N489.08bn or 56.9 per cent of total revenue, was below both…

JAMB announces date for 2020 UTME

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced new dates for 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and other criteria for registration and participation in the examination. JAMB Registrar, Mr Ishaq Oloyede, at a meeting with Commissioners of Education and stakeholders in Abuja, yesterday, said mock examination will hold on February 18, while UTME examination will commence on March 14, 2020 and end on April 4, 2020. Nigerian military successfully repelled a Boko Haram attack on Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, an official has said. According to reports, there was panic in Damaturu as loud gunshots and artillery fire rented the air.
