Buhari gives deadline to ministers to submit ‘performance’ report

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked for a comprehensive “status reports on policies, programmes and projects” from cabinet members on their respective ministries, departments, and agencies as his first term tenure winds down. Senate passes seven bills rejected by Buhari

Seven of the bills rejected by President Muhammadu Buhari were yesterday reconsidered and passed by Senate. The development came as the upper chamber initiated moves to override of the President on the Fourth Alteration Bill No.28. Senate said the bills were reconsidered and passed in line with legislative procedures. President Buhari, in his letter of rejection, raised concerns about the constitutionality of the bills if passed into law. The President requested Senate in the letters to consider the issues raised for their rejection and reconsider the bills. Power generation slumps to 1,675MW after system collapse

The nation’s power generation fell to a record low on Tuesday following the collapse of the national grid on Monday night. Data from Nigeria Electricity System Operator, an arm of Transmission Company of Nigeria, stood at 1,675MW as of 6.00 am on Tuesday. “System disturbance: This is to announce that the grid experienced system collapse at 23:44hrs on 15th April. Customs set to recruit 3,200 personnel

Nigerian Customs Service is set to recruit 3,200 personnel to fill positions in the agency. The positions to be occupied by prospective entrants include Assistant Inspector (Support Staff) – CONSOL 06, Assistant Inspector (General Duty) – CONSOL 06, Customs Assistant (Support Staff) Grade 11 – CONSOL 04, and, Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (Support Staff). Petrol landing cost now N180 per litre - FG

Landing cost of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, is N35 higher than the pump price of N145 per litre, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr Ibe Kachikwu, said on Tuesday. The panel set up by Federal Government to investigate the crisis in National Health Insurance Scheme has recommended immediate dismissal of the Executive Secretary of the agency, Mr Usman Yusuf.
