The federal government has inaugurated a national burial committee headed by Mr Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), for the burial of late former Vice President Alex Ekwueme. Mr Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Vice President made this known when he briefed State House correspondents on the outcome of the meeting of National Economic Council, NEC. President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to put in place measures to check embezzlement and diversion of recovered assets. He gave the assurance while inaugurating the Audit Committee on the Recovery and Management of Stolen Assets within and outside Nigeria at the First Lady Conference room in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Only 26 per cent of the private candidates who wrote the 2017 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, SSCE, had five credits including Maths and English, representing a sharp drop in the results recorded in 2016. The percentage of candidates in this category in 2015 and 2016 examinations were 28.59 per cent and 38.50 per cent respectively.
