A House of Representatives panel yesterday issued an arrest warrant against Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, for refusing to appear before it on a petition by former first lady, Patience Jonathan. The committee on public petitions said Magu should be arrested and presented before it on November 7, after his failure to appear before the panel despite several invitations. Ebonyi State government has begun data capturing and registration of members of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, living in the state. The government said the youth ”were misled to join the agitation of the group.” Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation, Uchenna Orji, said this in Abakaliki. Adeosun said this while appearing before the Senate’ Joint Committee on Finance and Appropriation. Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum resources, has written a petition to President Muhammadu Buhari over the alleged insubordination of Maikanti Baru, group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). National Judicial Council has constituted separate panels to investigate various allegations of misconduct against 15 judges, including two Chief Judges.
