New Permanent Secretaries get portfolios

Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Wednesday swore-in 15 new federal permanent secretaries at State House Council Chambers in Abuja. Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, on Wednesday admitted that the Federal Government failed to meet its part of the agreement reached with the Academic Staff Union of Universities last year, which led to the ongoing industrial action called by the union. FG meets ASUU, seeks end to strike

Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr Chris Ngige yesterday met the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to find solution to the ongoing strike action declared by the union on Monday. Academic Staff Union of Universities has commenced a nationwide indefinite strike to protest against the failure of the Federal Government to implement the terms of the agreement reached between the union and the government in 2009. Ondo State governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, has advised the Presidency to pick a replacement for Ibrahim Magu as chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) if the Senate would still not clear him.
