Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced sale of Direct Entry application form for candidates who have A-level results and wish to gain direct admission to degree programmes in Nigerian tertiary institutions. Electricity consumers in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, may soon enjoy improved power supply, as Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, commissioned two new transmission stations in Abuja on Monday. The two stations are 60 MVA/132/33KVA transmission sub-stations located in Kukuaba. Managing director and Chief Executive of the AEDC, Ernest Mupwaya, said the new sub-stations would “facilitate remarkable improvement in the quality and quantum of electricity supply to customers in the FCT.” He said consumers in the immediate environment of Lugbe will now be supplied electricity directly from the Kukuaba Transmission sub-station, instead of the Katampe Sub-station. Officials in South Africa say four male lions escaped from the country's biggest wildlife reserve and were spotted in a nearby village. The national parks service says rangers are searching for the lions, who escaped from Kruger National Park on Sunday night. The lions were seen in Matsulu village and authorities are asking residents to be vigilant. In May, officials rounded up several lions that escaped from the same park. In that case, they believed a dominant pride had chased the lions out of the Kruger reserve. AP 
Thousands of commuters were stranded on Monday at various Bus Rapid Transport, BRT, bus stops and terminals in Lagos following a protest embarked upon by the bus drivers across the state. Commuters formed long queues at BRT bus terminals in Ikorodu, Ketu, Ojota, Palm Groove and Onipanu, waiting for the buses in vain. The buses were off the roads following a protest by the drivers over the non-payment of their allowances.
