Strangely

Fifty-three years ago, Paul Grisham put on his heavy snow gear and said goodbye to Antarctica after spending 13 months there as a meteorologist with the Navy at one of the most remote stations on Earth. But he left something behind: his wallet. Grisham, now 91 and living in San Diego, said he doesn’t remember losing it, which is why he was stunned when he received a phone call from a stranger in Indiana on Jan. 27. “Paul? I think I’ve found your wallet,” the caller, Bruce McKee, told Grisham. It took Grisham a minute to piece things together. “What…

How ex-maths teacher fathered 116 children

It’s the sort of post you might find on a dating site: ‘I’m 35, have brown hair, blue eyes and am 6ft 3in. I weigh 80kg, am a keen runner and consider myself fit and healthy. I have a good job in marketing and a master’s degree. I’d love to hear from you,’ it concludes. ‘So please feel free to get in touch.’ An attractive prospect? But not merely as a candidate for a romantic hook-up. What this man is offering is neither a relationship nor even simple friendship. Rather, he is offering his sperm and his advert is targeted…

A Delta State High Court judge, Anthony Okorodas, says he recently discovered that the three children he had with his first wife are not his. Okorodas said in a statement that he made the discovery after he had sponsored two of them to university while the third one was already 17 years old. The judge said he discovered this after the three children were subjected to DNA tests. Okorodas, who described the discovery as devastating, said he and his current wife had been responsible for the education of the three children, two of whom are university undergraduates, since their mother…
‘Oversight or totally intentional? You decide.....’ one viewer commented BBC Wales viewers were left in hysterics after a guest left a rather unfortunate item in the background of her interview. Yvette Amos appeared on news programme BBC Wales on Tuesday (26 January) evening to discuss her experiences of unemployment during the pandemic. However, those watching at home found their eyes being drawn to the shelf behind Amos, which as well as holding books and board games contained a large pink penis. The image was shared on Twitter by journalist Grant Tucker, who tweeted: “Perhaps the greatest guest background on the…

It’s hard to believe that elephant dung could be the main ingredient of a premium spirit drink, but it’s true. South African gin Indlovu is made with botanicals harvested from the pachyderm poop. Paula and Les Ansley, both former professors in different fields of biology, decided to moved from the UK to South Africa, after retiring, and come up with a way to contribute to conservation efforts in the region and support the local community. Neither of them had any idea that elephant dung would play such a big part in their plan, it just sort of happened. Today they…

Woman arrested for baking 'indecent' cakes

A baker was arrested in after making a selection of 'indecent' cakes that were topped with icing in the shape of genitals and lingerie. The provocative desserts shared by a group of women at a party were described as an 'assault on the value system, and a crude abuse of society' by a top Islamic authority in Egypt which deemed them forbidden under religious law. But the crackdown drew criticism from some Egyptians who said it was 'eliminating any space for personal freedoms in Egypt'. The baker was arrested, then released on bail soon afterwards, while authorities have also identified…
A man too afraid to fly due to the pandemic lived undetected in a secure area of Chicago's international airport for three months, US prosecutors say. He reportedly found the staff badge in the airport and was "scared to go home due to Covid", Assistant State Attorney Kathleen…
There was a mild drama at the national arcade in Abuja on Friday when some pigeons President Muhammadu Buhari released to commemorate the armed forces remembrance day refused to fly. As a custom, Buhari opened a cage housing some pigeons and threw one of them into the air but it landed on the top of the cage and refused to fly. Efforts of the president to make other pigeons fly did not materialise until he got visibly tired and returned to his seat while the activities continued. The pigeons later flew when the president left. Releasing of pigeons symbolises peace…
