Some bandits in separate attacks reportedly killed six persons in two local government areas of Kaduna State. The local government areas are Chikun and Giwa. Some suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly shot a woman, Morenikeji Salami, while going to her site on the Oru-Awa Road in the Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State. The woman’s injuries were captured in a video that went viral on Saturday. The attackers numbering about eight reportedly emerged from the bush, cut off one of her fingers and shattered her jaw with bullets. Seven vigilantes in Mashegu council area of Niger State have been killed in an ambush by armed bandits. The incident occurred on Monday when the vigilantes were planning to attack the bandits. It was learnt that informants told the bandits of the vigilantes’ meeting. A source in the community said the bandits rounded up the vigilantes and opened fire, killing seven of them on the spot and injuring others. Johnson Fatokun, deputy vice-chancellor of Anchor University, has been kidnapped by armed men in Nasarawa. The Anchor University is a private institution owned by Deeper Christian Life Ministry. Four police officers were killed and one was missing after armed bandits attacked their convoy in northwest Nigeria on Friday, the Nigerian police said.
