Maina arrested in Niger Republic

Security agencies in Niger Republic have arrested the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, in that country. A top security officer said Maina was arrested by Nigerian Security agencies on Monday. United Nations says more than 100 civilians were killed during an attack on farmers in Borno state on Saturday. No fewer than seven persons have been killed in fresh attacks and reprisals in Jemaa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Ungwan Bido village where some local residents were killed and four injured. Also, two children are still missing. Boko Haram kills 45 farmers in Borno

Members of the Boko Haram sect have killed 45 farmers in Zamarmari area of Jere local government area of Borno state. The farmers were killed at Kwashabe village, about 20 kilometers north of Maiduguri, Borno capital. Nasiru Usman, one of the farmers who escaped during the attack, went to town with the news. The wife of Olugbenga Ale, Chief of Staff to the Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has been kidnapped.
