Gunmen raid banks in Ekiti, kill three

Three persons have been reportedly killed in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, following an armed robbery attack on two banks in the state on Wednesday. The robbers were said to have attacked Access Bank and Wema Bank branches in the town. Unidentified gunmen have ambushed a convoy of Daewoo E&C Nigeria Limited workers, killed four soldiers in the escort team and two of the company’s drivers. The convoy was attacked Tuesday around Ahoada axis along the East-West road in Rivers State. Suspected armed robbers on Wednesday reportedly killed one Taiwo Oyekanmi, said to be a director of finance, at the governor’s office in Ogun state. A witness said the robbers waylaid the homemade bullion van conveying Oyekanmi after he left a branch of Fidelity Bank in Abeokuta, the state capital.
