Senior Army officer, 10 soldiers die in gunfights with terrorists in Niger state

A major, no fewer than 10 Soldiers and unspecified number of local vigilantes have been killed by gunmen in Zungeru in Wushshi Local Government Area in Niger state. Benue women block highway in protest against killings by herdsmen

Protesting Benue women mounted a roadblock on Makurdi/Laafia/Abuja highway on Friday, following the killing of five people by suspected herders. Department of Security Services (DSS) says it has charged Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to court.
