Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has recovered over N30 billion from the suspended Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Ahmed Idris, who is facing corruption charges. Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) along Port Harcourt Road, Imo State, came under attack on Monday as gunmen invaded the office. Our correspondent gathered that the hoodlums, numbering more than 10, attacked the facilities of the electoral body at 3am. Gunmen enforcing sit-at-home on Friday evening killed four persons at two locations on Owerri-Okigwe Road in Imo State. The gunmen also kidnapped two expatriates supervising the ongoing construction of the phase 11 of the Owerri-Okigwe Road. Gunmen have abducted a former accountant general of Cross River State, Rose Bassey. She was abducted with three others on Tuesday at the Uyanga axis of the Calabar-Ikom Highway. The gunmen, who laid siege to that axis on the busy highway, shot at motorists and forced them to a halt. A popular evangelist in the state, Edim Omin, was shot during the attack.
