Four police officers have been reportedly killed during an attack on the convoy of Ikedi Ohakim, a former governor of Imo state. The incident was said to have happened on Monday evening at Oriagu in Ehime Mbano LGA of Imo state. The former Imo governor escaped death by the whiskers as the gunmen bombed the backup vehicle in his convoy. Bandits have killed no fewer than 20 people and many others wounded in villages surrounding the Duguri District of Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State. Gunmen, yesterday, attacked the Divisional Police Station in Ihiala community, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, setting it on fire. Also, the gunmen freed some suspects in the station and equally broke into the station’s armoury, cartimg away arms and ammunition. Bandits have killed no fewer than four farmers and abducted over 100 others including women and children from 14 communities in Mashegu and Rafi local government areas of Niger State in the last three weeks. Barely 24 hours after the kidnap of 45 residents in Aku Community, bandits have again abducted 16 people in another attack on Angwan Pa community in the same Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
