1,789 kaduna residents kidnapped in 6 months – Report

Kaduna State Government has said 1,789 citizens were kidnapped by bandits in six months. The government said 161 bandits were killed in various encounters with security agencies within the same period. Commissioner for Internal Security and Homes Affairs in the state, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this while presenting the second and third security situation reports for 2022 to the state government on Friday. Gunmen kill 18 in Benue market

Eighteen people were killed in different communities by suspected herders in the Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. The incident, according to locals, happened on Thursday at Ukohol and other adjourning villages as the suspected herders went on killing spree. Nigeria has lost nothing less than 120 million barrels of crude oil between January and September this year amidst revenue crisis. Parents in rural communities of Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, where bandits abducted 39 children working on a farm, have pleaded with the government to rescue their children from their captors.
