Fighter jets destroy terrorist command centre in Borno, kill scores

Three fighter jets of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Saturday pounded a terrorist command and control centre at Dusula, Borno State. NAF also launched Operation Green Sweep 3 aimed at targeting terrorist positions in Northeast. Buhari in Daura for sallah, to commission projects

President Muhammadu Buhari has left Abuja for his country home in Daura, Katsina State, for Sunday’s Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebration. The president, is also expected to spend additional days before returning for the induction retreat and swearing-in programme for ministers-designate rescheduled for Monday, 19th and Tuesday, 20th, August. FG speaks after Congolese govt ejected Nigerian ambassador from residence

Congolese security operatives on Thursday brushed aside diplomatic immunity usually enjoyed by representatives of foreign governments to eject Nigerian Ambassador to Congo, Mr Ibim Charles, from his official residence. Revenue formula review: Govs plot to increase allocation to at least 40%

Ahead of review of the revenue sharing formula scheduled to start on Thursday, there are strong indications that state governors may demand 42 per cent of the federal allocation as against the 26.72 per cent they currently get. Governors are also asking that the share of Federal Government be slashed from the current 52.68 per cent to 37 per cent, while requesting that the share of local governments be increased from the current 20.60 per cent to 23 per cent in the new formula. Kaduna-Abuja road reopens after hours of blockade

Kaduna-Abuja highway is now open for travellers who were held in a gridlock from the early hours of Friday. The road was locked down for more than six hours with thousands of travellers stranded. Soldiers killed three cops, freed kidnap kingpin - Police

Nigeria Police Force has accused some unidentified soldiers of shooting to death three police officers and a civilian along Ibi-Jalingo Road, Taraba State. Oyo/Osun Customs generates N23b in 7 months

Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr. Zulkifil Abdullahi, has said the command in its anti-smuggling drive generated over N23 billion between January and July, surpassing what the command generated within the same period in 2018.
