Buhari fixes date for inauguration of Ministers

FG seeks court order to detain Sowore for months

State Security Services has asked a federal high court to grant it the permission to detain publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr Omoyele Sowore, for 90 days. Sowore, an activist and presidential candidate of African Action Congress in the 2019 elections, was arrested in Lagos early Saturday by SSS operatives. The government accused him of planning to overthrow the Buhari government after Sowore called for nationwide protests to enthrone good governance in the country. Nobel laureate Toni Morrison, a pioneer and reigning giant of modern literature whose imaginative power in “Beloved,” ‘‘Song of Solomon” and other works transformed American letters by dramatizing the pursuit of freedom within the boundaries of race, has died at age 88. Court grants El-Zakzaky, wife permission for medical treatment abroad

Kaduna State High Court has granted the embattled leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Mr Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and his wife Zeenat, leave to seek medical attention abroad. In his ruling on Monday, Mr Darius Khobo ordered that the IMN leader be accompanied abroad by officials of Kaduna State government. Stay off Rivers, Wike warns ‘RevolutionNow’ protesters

Rivers State Governor, Mr Nyesom Wike yesterday warned those intending to participate in the Sowore-planned ‘RevolutionNow’ protest to stay off the state.
