US brings in new fast-track deportation rule

US government is introducing a new fast-track deportation process that will bypass immigration courts. Under the new rules, any undocumented migrants who can't prove they've been in the US continuously for more than two years can be immediately deported. The policy is expected to be published on Tuesday, and then implemented across the country with immediate effect. However the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) rights group has said it plans to challenge the policy in court. FG to spend N3.2bn on grazing reserves, beef production

Federal Government has allocated N3.2bn in 2019 budget for the development of national grazing reserves, promotion and development of beef production as well as other livestock programme. The amount is contained in 2019 budget signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on May 28. Specifically, the amount is contained in the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Senior army officer, 5 others soldiers die in fierce battle that killed several Boko Haram insurgents

Six soldiers, including two officers, who fought to repel a Boko Haram attack on Wednesday were killed by the insurgents. One of the victims was a colonel and another a captain.
