El-Zakzaky: Shi’ites storm Lagos, clash with police again in Abuja

Members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shi’ites, yesterday staged a protest in Lagos, demanding immediate and unconditional release of their leader, Mr lbrahim El-Zakzaky from detention. Nigeria’s public debt increased by N560bn in 3 months - DMO

The nation’s public debt stood at N24.947 trillion ($81.274 billion) at the end of March, this year, according to data released by Debt Management Office, DMO, yesterday. NJC recommends Muhammad for substantive CJN, 8 others as heads of courts

National Judicial Council (NJC) on Wednesday recommended Mr Tanko Muhammad to President Muhammadu Buhari for appointment as substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN). National Assembly was on lockdown on Tuesday after shots were fired outside during clashes between police and a group of Shi’ite Muslim protesters. Both sides blamed the other for the shooting.
