United States deports 34 Nigerians

34 Nigerians were on Wednesday deported from United States of America for allegedly committing offences in the country. The deportees arrived at cargo wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA), Lagos at about 2.30 p.m. The deportees, comprising 32 males and two females, were brought back in a chartered Omni Air International aircraft with Registration Number W342AX. Presidency cancels FEC meeting as Buhari signs 2018 Budget today

Presidency yesterday explained that today’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting was cancelled because Eid-el-Fitr holidays of last Friday and Monday affected preparation of council memoranda. Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has announced that the new moon for the Islamic month of Shawwal has been sighted. Head of NSCIA and Sultan of Sokoto, Mr Saad Abubakar, confirmed the sighting of the moon on Thursday night. He announced Friday for the celebration of the Islamic festival, Eid-el-Fitr.
